Urinary Tract Obstruction
Urine is formed as a result of the filtration of waste materials in our body through the kidneys. The urine formed in the kidneys reaches the bladder by moving through the channel called the ureter. However, in some individuals, urine coming out of the kidneys is blocked at the ureterovesical junction, which is the lower junction of the ureteral canal that connects to the bladder, and it cannot progress to the bladder.

In this case, if it is bilateral, the urine, which should normally accumulate in the bladder, begins to regress from the junction of the ureteral canal to the bladder, towards the kidneys and accumulate there. The stenosis seen at the ureterovesical junction where the canal connects to the bladder and prevents urine from reaching the bladder is called UV (ureterovesical) stenosis. Ureterovesical stenosis is among the kidney diseases seen in newborns and children. It can be said that ureterovesical stenosis is a congenital structural disorder in most cases. For the diagnosis and treatment of the disease, the factors causing this discomfort should be investigated and an appropriate treatment plan should be established for the patient after the diagnosis is made.
